WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE CAGE™ BLIND AND A TRADITIONAL POP-UP BLIND?
The CAGE™ Permanent Hub Blind is similar as far as the “popping up” goes. However, the unique difference after that is the addition of aluminum spreader poles that connect to metal hubs in all corners to stiffen the frame. The roof is supported by four aluminum Pogo Poles™ that lock in place with an easy-to-use threaded locking hub. Together with the spreader poles and corner hubs, the locked-in roof structure forms a 3 dimensional rigid truss capable of supporting in excess of 800 lbs. The metal frame and roof of the CAGE™ Permanent Hub Blind holds up to strong winds and the heaviest snow loads.
CAN I LEAVE MY CAGE™ BLIND OUT IN THE WINTER? HOW DOES IT HOLD UP AGAINST SNOW AND WIND?
Yes! The CAGE™ Permanent Hub Blind is “Built Stout and Made to Leave Out!”. The patent pending design pops up like a typical hub blind then utilizes additional aluminum spreader poles that connect to metal hubs in all the corners. IS THE FABRIC HEAVY DUTY AND WILL IT FADE OR TURN ANOTHER COLOR?
The exterior of the CAGE™ Permanent Hub Blind features Withstand™ – All-Weather Bonded Fabric – The premium all-weather fabric is a bonded three-layer material designed to withstand a constant barrage of wind and rain without failure. The exterior fabric is made with heavy-duty polyester woven with solution dyed Olive Tan fibers. This method of dying results in a more colorfast material that looks great for years after you buy it. This is the same process used to make commercial boat covers. The interior fabric is black which maximizes concealment by making the interior of the CAGE™ Permanent Hub Blind exceptionally dark. In between the two fabrics is a waterproof/windproof membrane that is protected on both sides so it will continue to keep out the elements even after years of rough use. Withstand™ All-Weather Bonded Fabric comes with a 5-year warranty against excessive loss of color.
IS THE CAGE™ PERMANENT HUB BLIND WATERPROOF?
The entire blind is designed to stay bone dry inside. There is a seam sealed rain fly over the entire structure and additional rainfly covers over each zippered opening to keep moisture out when openings are closed. HOW LONG SHOULD IT TAKE TO ASSEMBLE?
Because the CAGE™ Permanent Hub Blind functions much like a typical hub blind, set up can be done in about 5 minutes. If the CAGE™ blind ever needs to be moved to fine tune an ambush location, it can be easily accomplished without a lot of effort.
HOW MUCH DOES A CAGE™ BLIND WEIGH?
The CAGE™ R30 Permanent Hub blind weighs 62 lb. and comes with a heavy-duty cinch duffle bag for easy transport and storage.
WHAT ARE MAX VIEW™ SHOOTING WINDOWS?
The Max View™ Shooting Windows offer exceptional versatility for archers and gun hunters alike by adjusting for horizontal panoramic viewing or multiple vertical openings depending on preference. All openings are secured by industrial grade zippers that stay taught and eliminate any potential for flapping fabric. All window zippers are covered by a rain fly that helps prevent freezing up and also eliminates light from coming through to the inside which makes the interior of the CAGE™ Permanent Hub Blind extremely dark to hide your movement.
WHAT TYPE OF GROUND STAKES COME WITH THE CAGE™ PERMANENT HUB BLIND?
A blind will only stay put to the extent it is secured to the ground. That is why we employ serious corkscrew-style stakes, the same stakes commonly used for a dog tie-out cable. We include four, one for each wall panel. There are also four additional extra-long heavy duty ground stakes to secure the four aluminum corner hubs directly to the ground. Additionally, 1” cam straps are included to secure to the ground with confidence.
WHAT IS THE FLOOR OF THE TOWER MADE OF AND DO YOU RECOMMEND ANY ADDITIONAL FLOORING?
The platform of the CAGE™ Tower is made with heavy-duty steel mesh that provides a solid base. You can certainly add other types of flooring to the tower to help keep the elements out or to provide a smooth surface. We recommend heavy duty rubber mats such as barn cattle mats or industrial type mats as they will last a very long time. Other options are integrated foam floor puzzle pads, indoor/outdoor carpet, or simply plywood.
WHAT IS THE ADVANTAGE OF PURCHASING THE CAGE™ TOWER AS OPPOSED TO OTHER TOWERS ON THE MARKET?
The CAGE™ Tower can be assembled and put up in about the same amount of time as a typical ladder stand. Its design is streamlined, simple and not overly complicated so you won’t spend your whole day on assembly. The design offers full perimeter blind attachment which means the bottom corner hubs bolt directly to the tower and the bottom edge of the blind wall fabric is secured to the tower by sleeves that extend along the entire perimeter of the blind. It is also tested to meet ASTM standards, something commonly overlooked and not met by other tower manufacturers.
CAN I BOW HUNT OUT OF THE CAGE™ BLIND?
Yes, the size allows for full draw back of your bow as well as enough space for up to 3 hunters. Plus, the Max View™ Shooting Windows offer exceptional versatility for archers and gun hunters alike by adjusting for horizontal panoramic viewing or multiple vertical openings depending on preference. All openings are secured by industrial grade zippers that stay taught and eliminate any potential for flapping fabric.
